Why We Love Waco
Perhaps best known today for its Fixer Upper fame, those who live in Waco know there’s a lot more to this Central Texas city than some may think. Known as the Heart of Texas for its location between Austin and Dallas, Waco has plenty of Texas bona fides. Dr Pepper was invented here in the 1880s, after all.
Along with Baylor University and the Magnolia Market at the Silos, the city is full of things that help put it on the map. Places like Cameron Park, the Cameron Park Zoo, the Texas Ranger Museum and Hall of Fame, the Waco Mammoth National Monument and the Dr Pepper Museum are just a start.
Local restaurants, shops, art galleries and festivals add much to enjoy throughout the year. Embraced by the scenic Bosque and Brazos Rivers, Waco is charming, diverse, family-friendly and as authentically Texan as they come. What’s not to love about that?
